.This is not the case here: forthe account given is a Sdhana presentment of Advaita-vda.The Zkta-Tantra teaches the unity of Paramtmand J%2łva, though its presentation of some subjects as Zakti, BINDU OR ZAKTI READY TO CREATE 133My, Cidbhsa is different (owing to its practical view#point) from Zamkara s Myvda. On this matter I mayrefer my readers to the article which I recently wroteon Zakti and May in the second number of the IndianPhilosophical Review (Baroda) since incorporated in my Zakti and Zkta. The three Bindus constitute the great Triangle ofWorld-Desire which is the Kmakal; an intricate subjectwhich I must leave for a future chapter. The three Bindusare Sun, Moon and Fire and three Zaktis Icch, Jna, Kriyassociated with the three Gunas Sattva, Rajas, Tamas.I#do not here deal with the order or correspondence whichrequires discussion. From them issued the Dev%2łs Raudr%2ł,Jyestha, Vm and the Trimkrtis Rudra, Brahm, Visnu.# # #The three Bindus are also known as the white Bindu(Sita-bindu), the red Bindu (Zona-bindu) and the mixed#Bindu (Miśra-bindu).These represent the Prakśara, Vimarśaand Prakśa-Vimarśa aspects of the Brahman which arecalled in the ritual Carana-tritaya (The Three Feet).The#Gurupduk-Mantra in which initiation is given in thelast or Sadmnya-D%2łkś represents a state beyond the#Zukla, Rakta and Miśra-Caranas.So it is said in Zruti#that there are four Brahmapadas, three here and one theSupreme which is beyond. As is the case in many other systems the One for thepurpose of creation is presented in twofold aspect, forUnity is actionless, and their relation involves a thirdaspect which makes the Trinity. But this apparent differ-entiation does not derogate from the substantial unityof the Brahman. As the ancient Rudraymala (II.22)says: The three Devas Brahm, Visnu, Maheśvara are# #but one and formed out of My body.Ek mkrtis trayo dev brahmavisnumaheśvarh# ##Mama vigrahasamkl# pth srjaty avati hanti ca.# 134 THE GARLAND OF LETTERSFrom the differentiating Bindu are evolved the Tattvasfrom Buddhi to Pr# thivi and the six Lords of the Tattvas(preceding Paraśiva the seventh) who are the presidingDevats of mind and of the five forms of matter. Here onthe diremption or dichotomy of Consciousness, Mind andMatter are produced. That is, Consciousness functions inand through the self-created limitations of mind andmatter. It was on this division also that there arose theCosmic Sound (Zabda-brahman) which manifests as Zabdaand Artha. This is the Zabda-brahman; so called by thosewho know the gamas.Bhidyamnt pard bindor avyakttm ravo bhavat.#Zabdabrahmeti tam prhuh sarvgamaviśradh.(Zrad-Tilaka I-II)It will be observed that in this verse the first Bindu iscalled Para and to make this clear the author of thePrnatosini adds the following note: By Para-bindu is#meant the first Bindu which is a state of Zakti (Pard-bindority anena śaktyavasthrkupo yah prathamabindustasmt).Zabda-brahman is the Brahman in Its aspect asthe immediate undifferentiated Cause of the manifestedand differentiated Zabda, or language in prose or verse;and of Artha or the subtle or gross objects which thoughtand language denote. It is thus the causal state of themanifested Zabda or Mantra. CHAPTER XIVMY-TATTVAWHAT Matter is in itself the senses do not tell us.All thatcan be predicated of it is its effect upon these senses.Theexperiencer is affected in five different ways giving rise inhim to the sensations o hearing (Zabda); feel by whichis experienced the thermal quality of things (Zparśa);colour and form (Rkpa); taste (Rasa); and smell (Gandha). The cause of these are the five Bhktas which, in the generalcosmic evolution, are derived from the Tanmtras or generalelements of the particulars of sense perception [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
